Exciting news! Partnership with GPSMyCity!

As a traveler who is constantly searching for the most convenient way of exploring a city, I was really excited to hear about GPSMyCity. I truly believe this app will change the way we travel from now on.

GPSMyCity offers an incredible service of converting informative travel information into mobile apps that one can simply download onto their smartphones. What makes this offering really great is that the GPS co-ordinates of the various sights are embedded into the map and are available offline so there is no need to hunt down wifi constantly, or buy an expensive SIM card to aid your explorations!

GPSMyCity has partnered with travellers who have ‘been there and done that’ so the information you’re receiving by way of the apps is first hand.

This handy app presents you over 5500 self-guided walks in 700+ cities around the world, featuring the best of each city, from world famous attractions to hidden gems. There simply is no better way to see a city on foot, at your own pace and at a fraction of the cost you would normally pay for a guided tour.

As part of my recent partnership with GPSMyCity, we are going to be giving away the first app: The Dinks in Transit Guide to Hong Kong. Simply download the GPSMyCity app to your phone and download (and upgrade) this travel guide for free.

Why mobile GPS embedded apps I hear you say?

The reasons are numerous:

  • Finding a good quality paper map is virtually impossible these days, and even if you can find one, its time consuming to figure it out and decipher how to get to a specific spot.
  • Your phone is with you 24/7. You don’t need wifi. You don’t need a local mobile network. The app simply uses your phones built in GPS to navigate you around the city.
  • When you get to the place you want to be, all the information you need about the sight is at your fingertips. It doesn’t get easier than this!
  • Upgrading a free article to the full content will cost you $1.99 – hardly a substantial amount of money when you think about how expensive guidebooks are these days!

In addition to the Dinks in Transit Guide to Hong Kong, the following apps are also available for download from the iTune store now!

Thanks for supporting both me and GPSMyCity – go ahead and give the apps a try – they’re awesome!
